Aki

Aki's TAF pattern was inspired by some Japanese Origami paper. It was meticulously hand-painted with acrylic paints using a toothpick and a number 0 synthetic brush. Her eyes have also been completely re-painted, and there is a touch of gold glitter on her brow, just for that extra bit of glamour. Both the symbols and eyes have been sealed with a matte varnish. Instead of a small cutie mark on her magnet hoof, I have added a glass bead bracelet. Aki has been rehaired with Caddy Red Katsilk hair, with some CM yellow in the tail. She was dusted with coral blush after these pictures were taken.

Aki originally started out as a Star Surprise Crystal Design pony. Her star was removed, and the hole was filled in with Sculpey and then painted over with her symbol. The embedded star on her behind was removed by dunking her into some hot (not boiling) water. This softened things up enough for the star to be pulled out whole, with a pair of pliers. There was some glue residue left behind, but this has been covered by her cutie mark. There are slight bumps and irregularities on her body in the area where the star used to be, but these can only be seen upon close scrutiny, and she still displays beautifully!
