| Buttered Popcorn Buttered Popcorn was my first dyed pony. She was made from a Denim Blue Sparkle pony, and the sparkles on her face and symbol were a nightmare to remove! They eventually came off with a combination of acetone based nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol. I immersed her entire body in a shallow ice-cream container of RIT dye. The dye mixture only had about a teaspoon of dye, and the rest was near-boiling water. She only needed to be submerged for 30 seconds or so, in order to acheive the right shade of yellow. I am extremely pleased at how she turned out! Her symbol was painted with a toothpick and a very fine brush, using Gesso (Gesso is a common canvas primer and is white). Her hair was a very interesting experiment - I bought about a metre or so of white Nylon rope from the hardware store for about $3 a metre. I then unravelled the rope and re-rooted Buttered Popcorn! It was extremely easy and the hair is EXTREMELY glossy and soft - moreso than real MLP hair. Once she was rehaired, I covered the mane and tail in a towel and ran a quick iron over them, because the hair was a bit too wavy for this pony. The results are just lovely - and so much more cheaper than Katsilk hair! I then dipped the ends of the hair for about 1 minute, into another bath of RIT dye. The end result was butter-coloured hair on the ends.
