Princess Firebird

Princess Firebird was my very first custom pony, and she was made from a Sew-and-sew. Her body colour is original, and she was re-rooted with hair from a cheap yellow halloween wig from the Warehouse! The hair turned out surprisingly well, and it took on a flame-like style with very little work. Her wings are made from clear plastic transparencies, the kind that you use in an overhead projector. The wings were carefully cut out with a scalpel and painted with clear acrylic paint that has gold sprinkles in it. 2 slits were made on her back the wings were inserted. A little bit of superglue was brushed on the base of the wings, around the slits. The wings are surprisingly strong! Her symbol was drawn on with a red Tria marker. I don't use marker pens on customs anymore, because I have heard that the ink pigment can bleed and degrade the plastic over time. Acrylic paints are your best bet. Her hair ornament was made from a cheap pair of earrings that I picked up from the local fleamarket.
