Prepping the hair

You will need ~

1. A comb 2. Hair (where to get hair from?)

The method I use to rehair my ponies does not use any glue, yet results in ultra strong hair that can be brushed, pulled and styled just like a normal pony's hair :)

Firstly, smooth the hair out over your working surface and comb it out. Make it all nice and neat and flat.

As you can see, the comb's teeth breaks the hair up into many little sections. This makes separating them out in the next step a lot easier.

Next, separate out 1 plug of hair from your pile. This hair will eventually be DOUBLED OVER to create one plug of hair for your pony. So keep that in mind :) That means this little bit of hair has to be half the thickness of one final plug of hair.

If you aren't sure how much hair to use, just go look at an existing pony in your collection and observe the thickness of each plug.

Now all you have to do is create a knot directly in the middle of this bit of hair.

Then pull the knot tight :)

And here is the final knot of hair. Now go count the number of hair holes in your pony's head and make a knotted bit of hair for each hole. Yup, this is going to take a while :)

Next, we have to get this hair into our pony's head.
